Controlled Chemical Transformation and Crystallization Design for the Formation of Multifunctional Cu-Doped ZnO/ZnAl2O4 Composites

Photoactive Cu-doped ZnO–ZnAl2O4 ceramic nanocomposites and coatings were prepared by polymer-salt method. The luminescent spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) X-ray diffraction methods used for the study structure, morphology materials properties. consist of small hexagonal ZnO cubic ZnAl2O4 nanocrystals having size about 10 nm. luminescence properties shows that can be as light down-converters transfer short-wave ultraviolet (UV-C) radiation into long-wave (UV-A) visible spectral range. These very attractive in photovoltaic applications down-converters. Also obtained demonstrate ability to generate chemically active singlet oxygen under UV-A blue light. experiments show antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria.
